Hey guys! It's been WAYYY too long since I have filmed a Youtube video! So I hope you guys don't mind my rusty skills XD. In this video, I'm just sharing how I do a really basic makeup look, while talking through some new products I've been loving. I hope you enjoy :)
Hey guys, I am back for something a little different today. As you may or may not have seen online, it is World Mental Health Day. I know I have never really talked about what I am struggling with, but today I decided I wanted to share something with you guys.
My name is Tiffany, and I am depressed.
To be honest, I don't really know when it started, but I think I can tie to a certain time in my life. I won't go through the workings of it all because quite frankly, I am not at that level yet to be so honest. But I do know that I am not the same person I was ten years ago. The things that used to interest me no longer have a spot in my heart. I am living to "make it through the day." I have feelings I know I shouldn't have about life and death. I'm not saying if those things apply to you, you are also depressed. But for me, those were the first symptoms I noticed about my depression.
If you do not know if you are depressed, but think you might, I highly recommend you do some research. There are so many resources online about discovering your depression. If you do know you are depressed, then I am going to give you guys some of the things I do to sometimes deal with it.
Tip 1: Know The Signs Like I said before, look for all the symptoms you are experiencing, and see if those correlate to depression. There is no harm in doing some searches on Google; in fact, it could save your mental health if you do. I know that once I figured out I was depressed, I became more aware of it, which helped me go about helping myself.
Tip 2: Be Selfish
I know that taking a break to help is yourself is a foreign idea in today's world, but you have to. The only way to help yourself is to take a break from all of the things that could be triggering your depression without you being aware that it is. For me, I "take my break" by driving. I do not know why, but driving by myself is a stress reliever. Having a few moments to yourself is normal, and it something healthy people do. So don't be afraid to seek those moments.
Tip 3: Treat Yourself Well
This kind of ties into the last tip, however with this tip, I am talking about your overall health. I know that when I was first feeling depressed, I compensated for my terrible feelings about myself by eating. This is actually a common symptom of depression: eating too much or too little. Once you know that you have an issue, take some actions to make sure you are treating yourself well overall. It's crazy that a mental illness can affect so much of your overall life! But it can, because the brain tells everything else what to do. So stay ahead of your brain! Eat well, get some exercise, get enough sleep but not too much. I know these things won't cure your depression, but it will prevent it from ruining your life.
Thanks so much for reading. I hope that this can help someone else out there. If you or someone you love is suffering from any mental illnesses, be sure to seek the help you need. I know that is easier said than done, but this is your life.
Hey guys! I am back after a little break! You guys know how it goes: School starts and I get a little less routine in my blogging game. I am so sorry, but I am trying to get back into my groove. So I thought it would be great to start back with a little review!
Today I am going to review the Carli Babel eyeshadow and highlighter palette. I have actually had this palette for some time now, but I really didn't make much use of this palette up until about three weeks ago. So now that I have had some time to really play with this palette, I felt like I could give a good review of it.
Here's what the palette looks like:
(Excuse the dirty mirror)
This palette is filled with neutral, yet romantic shades. It's a warm toned palette for sure. You get a little of the cool tone with the plum colors and the matte brown, but overall, the eyeshadows are warm. You get 10 eyeshadows as well as 4 highlighters, all for $14. I got my palette from Ulta, so I don't know if it's cheaper on the BH Cosmetics site.
Let's start with the eyeshadows!
Here is what the eyeshadows look like. I will say that in this palette, the shimmers really stand out. I think it's because the focus was on shimmery makeup, which was why they included highlighters. But the shimmers are so much more pigmented than the matte shades. As well, the consistency is much more consistent with the shimmer shades, which isn't always true with the matte shades in this palette. The shimmers, however, have a lot more fallout than the matte shades, so that is something to consider.
Now for the highlighters:
The highlighters in this palette are so pigmented! To be honest, I only use three of the highlights because the far right one is too dark to be a highlighter on me. Even the gold can be a little too much for my skin tone: I usually mix that one with the second highlighter to get a nice champaigne color. But my ride or die highlighter in this palette is the second one. It is so good, and has the most beautiful finish on the skin. It's a little rosy, but not so rosy that it looks like a blush. If you follow me on Twitter, last week I tweeted myself wearing this highlighter. (If you don't, I'm @tiffanychill10)
I will say that the highlighters have a lot of fallout as well as the shimmery eyeshadows. But overall, the crowning jewel of this palette is the shimmers. If you are someone looking for a neutral, romantic looking palette with rich shimmers, then this is your kind of palette! However, I would recommend using another palette for like a crease and transitional shade.
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed my little review. If you have this palette, then let me know your thoughts in the comment section! As well, if you aren't subscribed to my blog, then you should totally subscribe :)
Hey guys! I am doing something a little different for today's post! As you may or may not know, I really like to take pictures. I find that there is so much beauty in the world, and I love trying to capture it, if even for a moment. So today, I want to share with you some pictures I have taken. They are all related to rain, or a rainy day, hence the title of this post. I hope you enjoy these kinds of posts!
(Sorry about the disconnect in size, I took this one another way)
Thanks so much for looking at my pictures! If you like these kinds of posts, please let me know! I would love to share some of the other pictures I have taken, so just let me know :)
Hey guys! It's been so long since I have made a new "What Am I Listening To?" playlist for you! Honestly, I am always listening to something new, but when I find some songs I can't get out of my head, I have to share! So, here is my summer 2016 playlist! I hope you enjoy :)
Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake
I am absolutely obsessed with this song! Well me as well as the rest of the world XD. It's just a feel good pop song, and the world needs more of those. I feel like this song is the 2016 version of "Happy" by Pharrell. It's everywhere I turn, and it's just infectious! The song just makes you want to dance. Plus, I am obsessed with anything Max Martin touches. He is just a musical mastermind, and the more I research about him, the more I admire his work. Overall, I feel like I am going to be listening to this song for a VERY long time :)
If It's Lovin' That U Want by Rihanna
So this is a random favorite. But in May I went to see Rihanna and she was amazing live! So I went back home with an obsession of Rihanna songs! As I was searching through Spotify, I realized how much I loved this song. I remember when it first came out I was obsessed with this song too. I thought it was such a cool sounding song. Now, I just find this song as a guilty-pleasure song. I will forever adore Rihanna, and this song was pretty much the start of my love for her.
Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car by Billy Ocean
That video cover is so random, but to be honest, so is this song. I love 80's music, and this song is almost like the epitome of 80's pop. It is groovy, as well as just catchy. This song makes me want to dance and have a little party in my head every time I hear it. Anyone who knows me, knows that 80's music is one my favorite times in music history, and this song is 80's pop in a tune. (Plus it was on Pretty Woman so there's another fun fact XD)
Thanks so much for checking out what I am listening to! I think the overall pattern is upbeat songs, which is perfect for summer! As well, I have made a totally random, but summer approved playlist on Spotify, which I will share down below! I hope you enjoy, and thanks so much for reading :)
Hey guys! So today's blog post is a little different! I am going to be interviewing a good friend of mine, and her name is Molly. I met her through Twitter and I think it was through a blog chat. So I wanted to interview her, just in case you guys don't know about her :)

How long have you been blogging?
I’ve technically been blogging for two and a half years; though within the last two years is when I’ve been able to properly invest time into it and become more serious about it.
What inspired you to start a blog?
After stumbling upon blogs when I was in high school, I knew I didn’t want to just be an observer of this world. I wanted to contribute and share my musings and passions with others. At the time I was looking for a change of pace, and being someone who loves writing and is generally creative, blogging seemed like a fitting hobby to satisfy that.
What is your favorite part of blogging?
There are countless aspects of blogging that are all favorites. Just two are the creativity necessary and the community. Naturally, I have a tendency to be creative, so I always appreciate the chance to express and exercise that side of my personality. Beyond that I appreciate the like-minded community I’m now a part of.
What advice would you give to anyone who wanted to start a blog?
Go for it! It’s worth a try to see if it ends up becoming a hobby you enjoy. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to meet some really lovely individuals in the process.
What do you like about other people's blogs?
Being a very visual person, I always appreciate a clean aesthetic and quality photos and graphics. What I really love, though, is how everyone’s personalities shine through their blogs; be it with their visuals or written voice.
If you could describe your blog in 5 words or less, how would you describe it?
Beauty, Design, DIY'S, Fashion, Lifestyle
What's a pitfall of blogging that most people don't see unless they blog themselves?
Blogging is very time consuming. Between brainstorming, planning, photography, writing, editing, promoting, and networking; the amount of time needed adds up. It’s so worth it, though. When it’s all said and done, you’re then left with a really unique space that you created.
Is there any benefits to blogging that people don't see unless they blog themselves?
Yes! Becoming a part of this community and culture means readily available inspiration at all times in a variety of forms courtesy of some really great people. Blogging really encourages creativity. Blogging can also help to improve specific skills like photography, writing, and even time management.
What are your secrets to having a successful blog?
Success can be defined in various ways and differs person to person. For myself, having a successful blog means creating content I’m proud of. That being said, create what you want. Don’t force it and let it flow, and it will all fall into place.
Hello guys! It feels like forever since I have actually sat down and wrote a blog post. I miss it though :) Today I am bringing you a different type of blog post! I have collaborated with Casper to bring you this post all about the many benefits of napping! Anyone who knows me, knows that I take naps very seriously, so I was so excited when Casper reached out to me to write this post!
In case you have never heard of Casper; they are a startup that has designed a mattress, sheets, and pillows designed to give you the best rest you can get! If you would like to check them out, then here is a link to their site!
So onto the heavy hitting napping material :)
I, personally, have always been a huge napping fan. For me, the worst thing about napping is how long to make a nap. Ideally, I take somewhere between 15-25 minute naps. I find that this is the perfect amount of time to wake up and feel refreshed. If I take a nap for any longer than that, I wake up groggy and a little disoriented! Plus, I won't be able to sleep at night if I take a super long nap. So I like a quick little nap.
I have found that taking a nap helps me to be more productive. When I wake up from a nap, I find that I am more alert and more productive. I take naps especially if I am studying for a long period time. During finals, you can find me taking naps like everyday! I find that staring at words and notes can drain my eyes, so when it gets to the point where I am just staring at words and not retaining anything, I take a little nap. It's seriously one of the best study hacks that I use. The same can go for work. My co-workers used to make fun of me because if I had a lunch break, I would always try to squeeze in a 15 minute nap. I am lucky that we have a futon in our break room! It probably wouldn't work if we didn't XD. I have found that more people have followed my lead and started to squeeze in a nap at work! Sometimes, it's all you need to get you to work your best :)
(Even my cat enjoys a little nap)
Now I know squeezing a nap can be easier said than done, especially if you don't have the resources to do so. For me, I can pretty much sleep everywhere. But, if you're not like me, then I have some tips to try and get a quick little nap in!
1. Utilize your spare time
We all have some down time, whether we see it or not. It can be, taking some of your lunch break to nap, or if you're a student like me, taking 20 minutes after class to get some z's. Everyone is different, but the important thing to do is seriously analyze what you do in a day, and see where you can take 15 to 20 minutes for yourself.
2. Know your needs
For me, a quick nap is the most effective. I usually take 20 minutes. But science has said that anywhere between 15 to 25 is the best amount of time to nap for, so find what time works for you! Maybe you only need 10 minutes, maybe you need 30 minutes! Find what works for you to make you wake up refreshed and more productive.
3. Find your napping spot
Like I mentioned before, I like to nap on the futon at my job. I mean, I love my bed immensely, but if I am out, then I am forced to use the futon! This tip is conjunction with the first tip. Find your time to nap, then find where to nap. The goal is to be comfortable enough to sleep for a short amount of time. That might mean at your desk if you work an office job, or it could mean your car if you are comfortable enough being in your car! Where there is a will, there is a way :)
That pretty much concludes this post! Thanks so much for reading today! And thank you so much to Casper for reaching out to me to write this. Let's just say, a lot of research went into this ;) In case you didn't know, National Napping Day is March 11th, so go enjoy a nap!
