Hello guys! It feels like forever since I have actually sat down and wrote a blog post. I miss it though :) Today I am bringing you a different type of blog post! I have collaborated with Casper to bring you this post all about the many benefits of napping! Anyone who knows me, knows that I take naps very seriously, so I was so excited when Casper reached out to me to write this post!
In case you have never heard of Casper; they are a startup that has designed a mattress, sheets, and pillows designed to give you the best rest you can get! If you would like to check them out, then here is a link to their site!
So onto the heavy hitting napping material :)
I, personally, have always been a huge napping fan. For me, the worst thing about napping is how long to make a nap. Ideally, I take somewhere between 15-25 minute naps. I find that this is the perfect amount of time to wake up and feel refreshed. If I take a nap for any longer than that, I wake up groggy and a little disoriented! Plus, I won't be able to sleep at night if I take a super long nap. So I like a quick little nap.
I have found that taking a nap helps me to be more productive. When I wake up from a nap, I find that I am more alert and more productive. I take naps especially if I am studying for a long period time. During finals, you can find me taking naps like everyday! I find that staring at words and notes can drain my eyes, so when it gets to the point where I am just staring at words and not retaining anything, I take a little nap. It's seriously one of the best study hacks that I use. The same can go for work. My co-workers used to make fun of me because if I had a lunch break, I would always try to squeeze in a 15 minute nap. I am lucky that we have a futon in our break room! It probably wouldn't work if we didn't XD. I have found that more people have followed my lead and started to squeeze in a nap at work! Sometimes, it's all you need to get you to work your best :)
(Even my cat enjoys a little nap)
Now I know squeezing a nap can be easier said than done, especially if you don't have the resources to do so. For me, I can pretty much sleep everywhere. But, if you're not like me, then I have some tips to try and get a quick little nap in!
1. Utilize your spare time
We all have some down time, whether we see it or not. It can be, taking some of your lunch break to nap, or if you're a student like me, taking 20 minutes after class to get some z's. Everyone is different, but the important thing to do is seriously analyze what you do in a day, and see where you can take 15 to 20 minutes for yourself.
2. Know your needs
For me, a quick nap is the most effective. I usually take 20 minutes. But science has said that anywhere between 15 to 25 is the best amount of time to nap for, so find what time works for you! Maybe you only need 10 minutes, maybe you need 30 minutes! Find what works for you to make you wake up refreshed and more productive.
3. Find your napping spot
Like I mentioned before, I like to nap on the futon at my job. I mean, I love my bed immensely, but if I am out, then I am forced to use the futon! This tip is conjunction with the first tip. Find your time to nap, then find where to nap. The goal is to be comfortable enough to sleep for a short amount of time. That might mean at your desk if you work an office job, or it could mean your car if you are comfortable enough being in your car! Where there is a will, there is a way :)
That pretty much concludes this post! Thanks so much for reading today! And thank you so much to Casper for reaching out to me to write this. Let's just say, a lot of research went into this ;) In case you didn't know, National Napping Day is March 11th, so go enjoy a nap!

Hello guys! As you may or may not know, I have oily skin. I normally like having oily skin, because of its natural glowing look. But there are times when I can tell my face looks like a slip and slide. So when that happens, I have my trusty blotting sheets! So today I wanted to talk about why I love blotting sheets! I hope you enjoy :)
Blotting sheets are used for when your face, or any part of your body really, gets oily. Blotting those areas gets rid of excess oils and helps to make it look more natural and matte. I go through like 5 in one sitting because of how oily I am. But really that could be less if you happen to only get oily in your T-zone, or you catch it before it looks really gross. I happen to never catch it until I look gross, so that's why I go through so many! XD
What I love most about blotting sheets is that they are relatively inexpensive! I got one set from Ulta for like $3, and the other set at Marshall's for like $2. They are usually inexpensive, and can really help a look.
Blotting sheets are amazing if you have combination to oily skin. If you are more dry, you probably will never need these. But I know that some people get oily in their T zone only, so this is still perfect for you! I make sure to always keep a pack in my purse because you never know when the oils will attack your face.
Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you found it informative. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post, because it's gonna be a good one :)
Hey guys! I am back with a new post! This post is in collaboration with Glossier. Glossier is a modern beauty company that specializes in skincare products. If you care to check them out, the link is provided. Glossier was grown out of Into The Gloss, which is one of the largest beauty blogs in the whole world. Their goal is to enhance the natural skin, as opposed to hiding it. I was so excited when they approached me to write this blog post because I love going au naturale just as much as I love applying makeup. So I am going to share with you the products that I use for achieving a natural look. And be sure to check out Glossier!
Now onto the post :)
My first product is the Almay CC cream. I personally use this as a detox per-say from heavy foundations. I find that when I wear a lot of face makeup and for a good length of time, my face looks more red. I think it is because I am forcing it off with a cleansing towelette often, which causes my sensitive skin to get a little more sensitive. I love CC creams because there is a small tint to it, but it works at reversing some of the discoloration on the face. CC stands for color correcting, so if you are more red, then this works to getting your skintone to your natural tone. If you happen to have discoloration problems, I totally recommend this CC cream.
My next product is the Rimmel London Stay Glossy lip gloss. This is a totally random addition to this list, because it doesn't really do much for you. But I included it because I have recently discovered it, and its formulation is AMAZING! It has the perfect amount of shine, while not being too sticky. This is the perfect lip gloss for a day of going natural. The shade itself is not too pink, nor too mauve. It is a great natural shade, and it keeps the lips looking glossy!
Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion is a holy grail product of mine. I use this every night as a moisturizer after I have cleansed and exfoliated. As well, I will sometimes apply this if I feel like my skin is a little dry in the morning, just to give my skin a natural glow. This lotion works better than most lotions on the market because it truly penetrates the skin tissue layers to moisturize not only the top layer of skin, like most lotions do, but to moisturize deeper skin tissue layers. I can go a couple days of not applying this lotion and still feel as moisturized as I did when I applied it.
Next is the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment Primer. I personally don't use this as a primer. I will wear this as a light foundation almost. I only squeeze about the size of a nickel onto the back of my hand, and use my fingers to apply to areas I might need. This is tinted, but it gives such a natural finish that you almost forget you are wearing anything. It is super lightweight on the face, and it is infused with BB treatment, so this does have an SPF to it. BB creams normally have an SPF to it, so this helps to protect your face from some sun damage as you wear it.
My last product is the Too Faced Hangover RX Primer. I use this all the time, and not only as a primer. This is a great primer if that is what you care most about. But this works to make the skin more healthy, as opposed to making your makeup look better. It is infused with coconut water, electrolytes, and probiotics to nourish your face and make it healthier. I was talking to a friend about it one time, and she said "It's like Gatorade for your face!" Which is so true! If you can imagine what Gatorade does for an athlete, that is what this primer does for your face. This is quickly becoming a holy grail product for me, and it amazing for a day of going natural.
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you guys are having a great day! And I will see you guys soon for a new post :)
Let me know if you have any great products for going au naturale!

Hello guys! I am back with a new post! It feels like forever since I have actually written a blog post! I am so excited to write this post today though. Major news though before I get into my tips for waking up flawless. (Sings Beyonce to myself). The Chill Blog just reached 9000 views!!! Yay!! I am proud of this little passion project of mine. I have been blogging since December, and even though I am by no means a great blogger, blogging just makes me feel happy. I love writing posts, and editing videos, and coming up with new things to talk about. So thank you to everyone who has ever clicked on my blog and read a post for like a minute. It means the world to me that I have a little voice on the internet.
Now onto my tips for waking up beautiful!
1. Drink lots of water!
I now this is probably the most redundant tip for beauty, but there is a good reason it is! I notice my skin is more much more radiant and healthy looking when I have had a good amount of water the previous day. I always carry a water bottle on me. To be honest, I do not drink carbonated beverages, so this tip is easy for me. However, if you are someone that doesn't like to drink water, this tip might be a little more difficult. If you don't like regular water, there are so many ways to still get water in your system without drinking bland water. There is Vitamin Water, which I think everyone knows about. There are also drink infusers (I think that's what they are called) where you can put a little flavor into your water. My all time favorite flavor is grape.
2. Invest in a good beauty routine
I know my skin always feels better when I do my nightly skin routine. In case you don't know what I do, here is an old post of mine where I tell you guys my nightly routine. I live by this routine. I know everyone has different needs and likes, so your routine should be personalized to your needs. The key here is being consistent. The more often you do this routine, the more effective it will be for you. Plus, make sure you are doing a routine that benefits your needs. I know that I exfoliate everyday, however, if you have dry skin, this wouldn't work for you. Overexfoliating dry skin will cause your skin to be more irritated.
3. Take a shower at night.
This might seem totally random, but it works for me. I have curly hair, so if I take a shower at night, in the morning, my hair is gorgeous. My curls look beachy and wavy. However, if I take a shower in the morning and let my hair air dry through the day, my hair looks like a frizzy mess. I know I have some friends that swear by taking a shower in the morning, but I just can't do it. Plus, I always sleep better when I take a shower at night.
I hope you have enjoyed these tips! Let me know if you have any tips for waking up beautiful! Thanks so much for reading :)
